Senior Management – Insurance Division

Job Description:
On behalf of our prestigious client with Head Office in Islamabad and presence in key commercial centers of the country, we are seeking to attract a high caliber insurance professional to provide visionary leadership to a team of dedicated professionals.

This is a Senior Management position requiring exceptional demonstrated capability to develop, motivate and manage a team of insurance professionals towards consistent high performance in a challenging environment.

As a key member of the team responsible for the Insurance Division, you will also be required to liaise with a host of internal and external stakeholders including a team of peers who are collectively assigned the responsibility to implement policy guidelines received from the Board.

The position requires in-depth knowledge of insurance laws and regulations as applicable to life and non-life companies operating in Pakistan as well as globally, and the role of other market players including agents, intermediaries etc.

You should have extensive of handling multi-faceted regulatory aspects relating to various aspects of insurance business in Pakistan inducing prudential compliance, enforcement and prosecution.

Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for discharging the entity’s mandate and achieving its vision. The key responsibilities of the Insurance Division are as follows:

Keep abreast of latest developments in the insurance sector in Pakistan, globally and regionally
Play a lead role in the implementation of appropriate and enabling policy framework covering all aspects of insurance sector operations in Pakistan
Arrange for effective monitoring and enforcement of the affairs and performance of entities falling within your jurisdiction, and ensure timely remedial action as necessary in case of deviations, if any
Maintain coordination with industry stakeholders (insurance companies, industry associations, society of actuaries, brokers /agents/middlemen etc.) to understand issues and problems being faced and adopt measures to solve problems. Induct, train and supervise a team and arrange for discharge of routine functions such as periodic review of performance of entities falling within assigned jurisdiction, handling complaints from policy holders, monitoring of paid up capital requirements, M&A related activities, solvency margin, re-insurance treaties etc.
Undertake necessary activities to create an enabling legal framework to promote new insurance products i.e. Takaful etc.
The suitable candidate for this position should have excellent academic track record with 15+ years of experience, and should have worked at a top/senior position in the insurance sector. Prior experience of handling regulatory work will be a definite advantage.
Must be comfortable In working in an automated work environment and should have impeccable Integrity, positive attitude, superior communication and Interpersonal skills.
